The Baka RulesSo, you want to join the network and become a full-fledged Baka! Well, there’s some rules you gotta follow and here they are:

Your site MUST be in a language that we can read and understand FULLY.

That basically means any site that’s NOT in proper English (not some cheap translation from your first language), we won’t be accepting you onto the network.

You must have a site that we can readily view.

An exception to this rule would be if you would like to start a brand new website. If this were the case, we will be monitoring your activity for a period of time to make sure you aren’t just here to waste resources.

You must submit your site for review.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  After reviewing your site, you will receive an email from us letting you know if your site is accepted or rejected.

Hosting a Blog on the BakaNetwork is not limited to Anime. :)

If you have a manga blog, news on the Genre, we’ll be happy to host your blog too!  :D    All rules still apply.  With a Manga-related blog, NO SHOTACON, NO LOLICON or any related material on those two Genres.

We currently cannot provide you with your own FTP username and password, so for security purposes, please make all FTP upload requests through us.

Our webhost currently doesn’t offer the capability to have multiple FTP accounts, but it is apparently in the works. Until this does become available, we will not be providing FTP details to our members. Anything that you need to have uploaded for your website must be done by one of the team.  So for now, just fill out the form on the Support page, and we’ll get back to you.

You must have a link back to this website on your website [NO EXCEPTIONS].

We’d like to think it’s nice if you were to place a visible link on your page back to our site. We can make graphical links on request, so if you wish for it to be a particular size, then let us know. Some generic banners are also available for you to use as well.

NO illegal downloading/file hosting allowed.

None, whatsoever. We check websites regularly and if we find anything resembling content in your website directory that is illegal….we will hunt you down and feed you to our goldfish!!! Ok, just kidding. We don’t even have any goldfish. But we WILL remove you from our network and if you’re lucky, we might tell you why we did it.

No inappropriate websites, please.

That means porn, hate, racism and other similar type websites. We will decide upon review whether we deem a website inappropriate. If we find these kind of “inappropriate” websites on the network, they will be removed without notice. If you want to cry about it, feel free to drop us a message.

Keep your website up-to-date and active.

If you are planning a hiatus, please let one of the team (me or CAG) know beforehand so we can take proper action.  Failure to do so will cause your site to be removed due to inactivity.

Please ensure you backup your website regularly.

While we don’t expect anything to go majorly wrong with the hosting and we do try to keep backups ourselves, as you can imagine, these backups will get enormous and will take up a lot of space. So if possible, keep a backup of your website. Again, this is another reason why we would like to have the Support Management system in place.

If you have a Twitter account, follow us and keep an eye on it for any developments.

If you don’t have a Twitter account, then that’s fine. But at least keep an eye on our Twitter account. If you do have a twitter account, it also allows us to promote your website a little more too as well as make a big deal for when you join us.
